Every window in a non- residential building located above the first Storey in corridors, stairways and other public areas that extends to less than 1070 mm (42") above the floor or landing shall be protected by a Guard at least 1070 mm (42") in height and having no openings large enough to permit the passage of a spherical object with a diameter of 200 mm (8") and be non- climbable.
