Winnipeg By-law 1481/77, s. 2.16 — Streets By-law

No owner or occupier of any land shall allow any part of a tree, shrub or sapling growing thereon to extend over or upon any street, or public place so as to interfere with, impede or endanger persons using such street or public place. When deemed necessary for the convenient and safe use of a street, the Director of Environment may, after notice cause any tree, sapling or shrub growing or planted on any adjoining land to be trimmed within the street and the cost as certified by the Director of Environment may be charged to the owner of the property on which the tree, sapling or shrub is growing. No person other than an employee or agent of the City shall climb, break, bark, peel, cut, trim, injure any tree, sapling or shrub in a street. No person shall plant or remove any tree in a street without having first obtained permission from the Director of Environment. amended 3789/84 SHOPPING CARTS
