Markham By-law 2017-26, s. 15(3) — Property Standards By-law

If, in the opinion of the Officer, there is doubt as to the structural condition and adequacy of a building or structure or parts thereof, the Officer may order that such building or structure or parts thereof be examined by a professional engineer, licensed to practice in Ontario and employed by the Owner of the building or authorized agent, and that a written report be submitted to the Officer, which report will include drawings for any recommended remedial work designed by the engineer, and the details of the findings of such examination.
