Brantford : Règlement no 478, art. 478.15.4 — Maintenance - good repair - safe – operative The owner, lessee or agent of the land or premises upon which any sign or advertising device or mural is located shall maintain, or cause the sign or advertising device or mural to be maintained, in a proper state of repair so that such sign or advertising device or mural does not become unsafe, unsightly, dangerous or defective and so that such sign shall be completely operative at all times

Maintenance - good repair - safe – operative The owner, lessee or agent of the land or premises upon which any sign or advertising device or mural is located shall maintain, or cause the sign or advertising device or mural to be maintained, in a proper state of repair so that such sign or advertising device or mural does not become unsafe, unsightly, dangerous or defective and so that such sign shall be completely operative at all times.

Where a building is vacated or a business is no longer in operation, signs related to these shall be removed within 30 days after the building is vacated or business ends its operation. Ground signs shall be completely removed including support structures to ground level. Wall sign boxes and other support structures may remain as long as these are reasonable compatible architecturally with the building. Any exposed wall remaining after a sign or mural is removed shall be covered or refinished in a similar colour to the exterior finish of the building. By-law 45- 2000, 27 March, 2000.
