How soon must snow be cleared?
Section 3.10(a) of By-law 1698-1987 requires snow and ice to be cleared from the sidewalk by 10:00 a.m. The clause includes exceptions or conditions; see the quote.
3.10 Snow, Ice, Rubbish
- (a) Owner or occupiers of real property shall remove snow and ice from the sidewalk,
- Walkways, and Walking Strips fronting or abutting on real property owned or occupied
- by them by 10:00 a.m. following any accumulation of snow or ice, except on Christmas
- Day and New Year's Day.
- (b) No person shall allow the accumulation of any rubbish upon any sidewalk in front of or
- abutting any premises owned or occupied by them.
