Despite subsection (1) (a), the person may return to a truck route using a different route if the following conditions are met:

• (a) the person has a subsequent delivery or service call to make in the same area;
• (b) the person proceeds to the most direct and nearest truck route after the delivery or the service call. Departure from a truck route for the purposes of storage or parking
