Notwithstanding the above, a person may take ownership, care or keep, possess or harbour one (1 ) cat above the limit of four (4) set out in subsections 18. 1 and 5 8.2 provided that:
- (a) such additional cat is acting as a Service Animal of such a person,

- (c) the cats that were taken into ownership, and licensed and registered, prior to the Service Animal, continue to be living and being licensed pursuant to this by-law. In the case that any of the cats that were owned, and licenced and registered, prior to the taking of ownership of the Service Animal, decease or cease to be licenced under this by-law, while the Service Animal is still in the ownership, custody, keeping or control of the person, the exception under this subsection will permanently cease to apply with respect to such a Service Animal for such a person.
