City guide
Edmonton business licensing bylaw
Edmonton writes this as a bylaw. The same rule is also searched as by-law and as "by law".

This is a guide, not legal advice and not the bylaw. Bylaw Insider does not re-host bylaw text. Amounts, deadlines, and wording are on the ticket and on the city site. We last checked the official links on 15 October 2026.
Edmonton requires municipal business licences for many activities. The bylaw list and the city's licensing service name the category, the fee, and the inspections. Alberta's security licence is separate. A training school, a guard company, and an alarm firm should not assume one approval covers the others.
The directory is not the licensing office. A verified flag means the licence number was checked, and it says with whom.
