Montreal filing a complaint règlement
Montreal publishes a règlement municipal. Without the accent, the spelling is reglement. The same rule is also written bylaw or by-law, and searched as "by law".

This is a guide, not legal advice and not the bylaw. Bylaw Insider does not re-host bylaw text. Amounts, deadlines, and wording are on the ticket and on the city site. We last checked the official links on 15 October 2026.
Montreal's 311 service takes requests about noise, salubrité, parking, and other municipal subjects. Give the civic address, what you observed, and when. Keep the request number. The borough or the central service does the inspection; 311 does the intake.
Not every dispute is a bylaw file. A tow-fee argument with a private operator may be a consumer matter. Read the receipt. The French page uses the terms règlement and constat, which are the words on the documents.
This site never contacts the city about a reader's complaint.
