Montreal paying or disputing a ticket règlement
Montreal publishes a règlement municipal. Without the accent, the spelling is reglement. The same rule is also written bylaw or by-law, and searched as "by law".

This is a guide, not legal advice and not the bylaw. Bylaw Insider does not re-host bylaw text. Amounts, deadlines, and wording are on the ticket and on the city site. We last checked the official links on 15 October 2026.
A Montreal parking or bylaw charge arrives as a constat or a notice that identifies the règlement, the fine, and the office that receives payment or a plea. Quebec's municipal-court process is not Ontario's provincial offences process. Do not follow an Ontario blog, and do not follow a day-count printed here.
Pay or contest using the instructions on the constat and on montreal.ca. If you want a representative, confirm that the person is allowed to act in Quebec. This site is not a referral.
The French page is the version written for Quebec readers.

Common questions
What is a constat d'infraction?
It is the statement of offence. It names the bylaw, the amount, and how to pay or contest. The deadline on that document is the one that matters.
