Halifax : Règlement no A-700, art. 20(2) — Animal By-law

The Shelter Keeper shall receive all animals apprehended or seized and delivered by a Peace Officer pursuant to this By-law or the Halifax Regional Municipality Charter, and subject to sections 23 and 28 of this By-law shall detain the same and furnish them with food and water for a period of three (3) business days unless:
- (a) the animal that is not a dog is redeemed by the owner, or
- (b) the dog is redeemed by the registered owner.
